About Hans Mayer...

Hans Mayer plays ear-tickling, child oriented music with an irresistible sense of humor. People of all ages are immediately attracted to his playful, fun-loving personality and his infectious, fun loving songs.

Singing and playing guitar, mandolin and Native American flute - and adding giggle inducing sound effects when the song calls for it - Hans has enchanted audiences across the country. His eight albums are hits with kids, parents, grandparents and teachers. Hans' popular preschool album,"Star of the Swingset," was named a 2000 Parents' Choice Foundation Recommended Title. In 2008 his "Funny Little Creatures" CD was selected as a Parents' Choice Approved Title and as a 2008 Children's Music Web Award Winner.

In addition to preforming for families, Hans has toured and recorded with Native American recording artist and Grammy winner Bill Miller, appearing on the Today Show, Austin City Limits, the World Cafe and the PBS special "Songs of the Spirit". Miller and Mayer have opened for top acts including Willie Nelson, Tori Amos, Pearl Jam and the BoDeans.

"You Are The Rain", a song co-written by Mayer and Miller, was selected for the soundtrack of the Rick Schroder independent film "Black Cloud". Hans has performed and recorded with a number of Midwest rock and bluegrass bands, including acoustic singer/songwriter Johnsmith.
